Adding some Nardi

I had been looking to the 700RS spyder(top pic) for inspiration and found it in the form of this Nardi mahogany steering wheel off e-bay. I backed it up with a matching shifter knob just to add some continuity. I'm still not sure weather or not to use the BMW logo'ed horn button, especially since the 700's horn is on one of the column switches and not on the wheel itself. Next step is fabricating a steering hub adapter which is not available for this model(big surprise).

  2. Hi there, I just wanted to say that your project is awesome, and my new inspiration for my own BMW 700 coupe restoration. I jumping into these cars pretty new to BMW and I hope to get some guidance from this blog, and possibly get some parts sources for these very rare cars. I looked back and you never said what you planned to do with the engine or suspension performance wise. What do you have planned?

  3. Hey GP,

Just wanted to compliment you on your project. I have been restoring a 1960 BMW 700 myself for quite some time. I do not have the knowledge or expertise that you have, and it took me about 5 years to get the car back on the road. There are still things I need to do on my car, but it is now roadworthy and I can finally enjoy it. I love the things you are doing and would like to talk to you about them. If you are in need of parts please let me know. I have some parts left from a donor car that I purchased. It would be my pleasure to help out a fellow 700er. Lots of luck.
